An overlay based on the ATSAMD11 ARM Cortex-M0+ chip, containing the MP6522 DC motor driver and IMU sensor, is designed for the Arduino Nano 33 IoT module. It is designed to help students prototype and create their own designs using four DC motors with 12 V and up to 500 mA current consumption per channel. The board also features 3-pin connectors for connecting other modules, four servo connectors, two encoder ports, and a 9-axis accelerometer, gyroscope, and magnetometer. The Nano Motor Carrier Board also features a Li-Ion single cell battery charger circuit.

The motor controller features a socket compatible with the connectors of the Arduino Nano 33 IoT board
The module is equipped with an ATMSAD11 microcontroller with ARM Cortex M0+ core for automated control of some outputs
An external power source must be used to power the motors, a single cell Li-Ion battery can be used for this purpose through a dedicated connector
