Rainpoint Rain Sensor

The RainPoint HCS044FRF Wireless Rain Sensor is a component of an automatic irrigation system that stops watering when rainfall is detected and resumes operation when conditions become dry. The device operates via a radio system and works with RainPoint irrigation controllers (sold separately or included in the system package). This enables smart irrigation management without the need for manual intervention. The sensor offers adjustable rainfall sensitivity ranging from 3 mm to 19 mm, allowing you to tailor its operation to the needs of your garden and the type of plants.

The device automatically pauses the watering cycle when it starts to rain, which helps reduce water waste and protects the soil from overwatering. According to the system’s specifications, this can reduce water consumption by up to approximately 50% compared to standard watering without rainfall control. Once the rain stops, the sensor automatically resumes operation when the moisture-absorbing elements dry out, without the need for manual reset. This solution enhances user convenience and ensures the garden is watered only when it actually needs it.

The RainPoint sensor allows you to adjust the response to rainfall through four sensitivity levels: 3 mm, 6 mm, 13 mm, and 19 mm. This allows the user to specify the amount of rain at which the system should stop. Additionally, the ventilation ring allows you to adjust the drying rate of the hygroscopic discs, which affects how quickly the system resumes operation. In practice, this allows you to better adapt the device’s operation to the climate and the individual needs of your plants.

The sensor is designed for outdoor use and is resistant to typical weather conditions such as sun, rain, and wind. The materials used and the housing protect the electronics from damage caused by exposure to UV radiation and moisture. As a result, the device can operate for long periods in various garden locations, such as building walls, fences, or roof eaves. The sturdy construction enhances operational reliability in changing weather conditions.

The sensor is installed using basic household tools, such as a screwdriver and a drill, allowing it to be mounted in just a few minutes. The kit includes a mounting bracket and fasteners that allow for stable attachment of the device in the desired location. Installation does not require specialized knowledge, but it does require stable mounting on a vertical or horizontal surface (e.g., a facade or a post). This ensures the sensor remains stable and accurately measures rainfall.

The sensor works with RainPoint controllers to create a complete automatic garden irrigation system. When paired with a compatible Wi-Fi gateway, you can also view the device’s status in the mobile app, allowing for remote monitoring of the system’s operation. The user can check whether watering has been paused or resumed without having to physically inspect the installation. This solution increases control over the garden and makes it easier to manage irrigation from anywhere.

Purchased items are delivered locally through Venipak service. Depending on availability of items, orders are processed within 1-3 work days. Orders made until 1AM are shipped the same day.

Local delivery  (1-4 w.d.) price for items of any size is through through courier service is 4.90€ (incl. VAT), if the amount of the shopping cart exceeds 150€ - delivery is free.

Local delivery price to Venipak parcel terminals (1-3w.d.) is 2.90€ incl. VAT, if the amount of the shopping cart exceeds 50€ - delivery is free.

Local delivery price to Omniva parcel terminals (1-3w.d.) is 3.90€ incl. VAT,if the amount of the shopping cart exceeds 70€ - delivery is free.

Payment on delivery (COD) +2.00€ (incl. VAT).
