The xTool Rover Robotics kit allows you to modify the mBot2 and create new designs for learning robotics, programming, and creative play. Among other features, this add-on kit enables the robot to traverse varied terrain, climb slopes of up to 40°, and perform tasks involving gripping, lifting, and transporting objects.
New designs and movement over challenging terrain
Rover Robotics allows you to alter the mBot2's structure and adapt it for new experiments. Depending on the chosen configuration, the robot can utilize a tracked chassis, making it easier to move across grass, gravel, and other uneven surfaces. The resulting build can tackle inclines of up to 40°, meaning play and learning are not limited to flat floors or tabletops.
Object gripping, lifting, and creative experiments
Additional components allow for the creation of mechanisms designed to grip and manipulate objects. This enables the robot to grasp, lift, lower, and release small items, opening up possibilities for more complex tasks and projects. Reconfiguring the mBot2 also provides practical experience in the fundamentals of robotics, including mechanics, construction, and operational principles.
Combining robotics learning with programming
Even after upgrading the mBot2, you can still utilize its programming capabilities, including the mBlock environment, which supports both block-based programming and Python. This allows users not only to build a new structure but also to program its operation and test the results of the written code in practice. Consequently, this kit aligns perfectly with a hands-on, experimental learning approach that combines construction, programming, and problem-solving.
