SMALLRIG AD-80 Tripod
The SmallRig FreeBlazer AD-80 4163 is an aluminum video tripod with a head featuring a damping system, a maximum load capacity of 8 kg, and a height range of 87 to 191 cm. The One-Key Locking technology allows you to quickly unlock and adjust the entire leg with a single motion, without having to release individual sections separately. The tripod supports Manfrotto 501PL quick-release plates and is compatible with DJI RS 2, RS 3, and RS 3 Pro gimbals, making it easier to switch between shooting on a tripod and using a gimbal. The tripod weighs approximately 4.38 kg, measures 90.5 cm in length when folded, and comes with a bag for easy storage and transport.
One-Key Locking – Quick Height AdjustmentOne-Key Locking technology simplifies setting up the tripod for use, as the entire leg can be unlocked and adjusted using a single mechanism. This allows for more efficient adjustment of the tripod’s height, especially when you frequently need to adjust the camera’s position while shooting. The height range of 87 to 191 cm allows you to work from both lower positions and at heights suitable for classic shots taken from a standing position.
Smooth head movements and factory-set counterbalanceThe video head is equipped with a damping system that ensures smooth panning and angle adjustments. The tilt range from -65° to 90° allows you to freely pan the frame in various directions and more comfortably adjust the equipment’s position for a specific shot. The factory-set Pre-Set Counterbalance system helps balance film sets weighing up to 3 kg with a center of gravity at a height of 55 mm, while the head’s maximum load capacity is 8 kg.
Quick Switching Between Tripod and GimbalThe head features a snap-on quick-mount design that allows you to efficiently attach the plate without having to slide it into a guide rail the traditional way. Compatibility with Manfrotto and DJI RS systems makes it easy to use the same camera in different configurations during a single shoot. As a result, switching from a tripod to a gimbal requires fewer extra steps and allows you to adjust the setup more efficiently for the next shot.
Convenient operation and expandabilityThe detachable 35 cm panning handle can be mounted in a way that’s comfortable for both right- and left-handed users. The head is also equipped with a 1/4"-20 threaded hole, which allows you to attach additional equipment, such as a Magic Arm or other compatible film accessories. The built-in wrench makes it easy to assemble and disassemble the equipment, and the aluminum construction ensures adequate stability during use; however, please note that the tripod is not resistant to sand or dust.
