EBMIA D12 Series Single-Phase Inverters

D12 single-phase inverters are used to control three-phase asynchronous AC motors. This is the most common type of motor used in industry. The D12 scalar inverter is designed for quick start-up and simple applications. It is ideal for typical applications where you need to control the speed and direction of the motor, or when you have a specialized motor designed for use with inverters.

We recommend using inverters of this series with electric shafts up to 2.2kW, as well as in applications such as pumps, fans and machine tool spindle control.

D12 inverter applications:

The D12 inverter allows you to create a simple asynchronous motor control system using the inverter panel, external control buttons and potentiometers. For more complex control systems, you can also use the PLC or MODBUS RTU communication protocol. The inverter panel can be disconnected and placed in a convenient location using a special panel cable. If you need a different length of panel cable, you can use AWG28/10 ribbon cable and standard IDC connectors.

Inverter configuration

The inverter is factory-configured to operate with a motor with a nominal frequency of 50 Hz connected in delta configuration. The inverter is factory-set for a motor with a nominal power that matches the inverter's nominal power. By default, control is performed using the keypad on the inverter panel, and speed is adjusted using the built-in potentiometer. The inverter is configured by changing parameter codes using the buttons on the frequency inverter operator panel. For more information, see the user manual.

NOTE: To operate with electric shafts, the frequency inverter must be properly configured. The most important parameters are the nominal frequency and the motor current (the nominal frequency of electric shafts is usually higher than 50 Hz).

Features of single-phase inverters:

The D12 frequency converter allows you to power a three-phase motor from a single-phase 1x230V network. To use the motor in this configuration, it is usually necessary to switch it to the "delta" mode by changing the arrangement of the plates in the motor terminal box. Asynchronous motors with a power of 3 kW and less usually have a "star" (3x400) or "delta" (3x230) connection. Some motors are connected in the "delta" mode at the factory - this will be indicated on their nameplate as 3x230. In this case, you can use a converter powered from a 1x230V network, but you must correctly configure the parameters responsible for the converter output voltage and the shape of the V/F characteristic. Motors with a power of 4 kW and above can be switched in a "star" configuration (3x690 V) or a "delta" configuration (3x400 V). Some motors are also factory-connected in a star configuration; in this case, the nameplate will indicate 3x400 V, which means that a three-phase inverter must be selected.

Advantages of D12 inverters:
