At the heart of the Minis Forum NAS N5 is an AMD Ryzen™ 7,255 processor with eight cores and sixteen threads, which offers up to six times the performance of the popular N100-class units used in many NAS servers. Such high computing power enables simultaneous access by multiple users, smooth processing of large files and fast operations in multitasking environments. The processor also excels in tasks that require multimedia decoding and data analysis, providing significantly better performance in multi-threaded tests (Cinebench R23 Multi-Core - 17,069 points). The integrated AMD Radeon™ 780M graphics chip supports smooth 4K video transcoding, making the NAS N5 an excellent choice for both content creators and professionals using advanced graphics and video applications.

The device runs on MinisCloud OS, which combines ease of use with professional-grade features. The platform works with Windows, macOS, iOS and Android, allowing quick access to data from any device - without the need to configure complex network protocols. Built-in features such as ZFS snapshots, LZ4 compression, multi-user isolation and support for containerized applications allow you to create a secure work environment and manage resources efficiently. The system also offers AI-based smart photo albums and one-click remote access, allowing users to fully control their data, regardless of location or device. Integrated tools monitor file integrity and use the high-speed, lossless LZ4 compression algorithm (up to 500 MB/s) to help manage storage space and speed up backups.

The innovative 5-bay chassis accommodates as many as five drives in a space typically used for four, offering 25% more capacity without increasing the size of the device. A slide-out motherboard allows quick access to components and seamless expansion of RAM or replacement of SSDs, while the modular design supports standard components, eliminating the limitations typical of integrated solutions. Efficient cooling is taken care of by the 9225 dual fan system, which actively dissipates heat from the HDD bays, ensuring stable and quiet operation even under heavy load.
