Manufactured by the company SparkFun company it performs the function of an RS232 radio transmitter-receiver. The chip is based on the popular MAX3232 converter, which converts low voltage logic signals sent to/from the minicomputer's UART interface from/to voltage standard and polarity compliant signals. The MAX3232-compatible SP3232 chip module is a voltage level converter that allows digital systems operating with voltages between 3.3 V and 5 V to achieve the voltage levels required for serial RS232 transmission.
