The iCS-2321-L motor from the iCS series is a stepper motor with an integrated magnetic incremental encoder with a resolution of up to 14 bits and an integrated control module. Connecting the stepper motor and encoder into a closed feedback system effectively eliminates the step loss problem inherent in open-loop stepper motor systems. This significantly increases system reliability while maintaining minimal additional cost growth.

The iCS-2321-L uses the advanced Leadshine control algorithm, developed based on many years of experience in controlling stepper and servo motors. Due to its extremely compact dimensions and integration of all components, the iCS series drives save installation space, eliminate the need to connect the encoder and motor wires, reduce electromagnetic interference, and reduce wiring and installation costs.
The iCS series is reliable and economical, perfectly suited for various industrial applications such as CNC machines, 3D printers, stage equipment, electronics and packaging equipment, etc.

Power
The recommended supply voltage for all integrated motors is 24 V DC. At higher temperatures, heat can be transferred to the drive controller and cause damage to it.

Application

ALM signal connection
The alarm signal is pre-configured and informs about errors such as overvoltage, current overload or position tracking error. It can be used to control a relay, LED indicator or as an input signal for PLC systems. For example, in multi-axis systems (CNC machines), a single axis failure can be transmitted to the motion controller, which stops the entire system.
Tuning connector
The P2 connector is a communication port for connecting to the Leadshine software. It is used only for changing parameters, not for controlling the motor. If Modbus-RS485 control is required, it is recommended to choose the Leadshine iCS-RS series motors.
Tuning using DIP switches
The motor can also be configured without software - using DIP switches. They set the number of microsteps (steps per revolution), the direction of rotation and the operating mode - open or closed feedback loop.

iCS series motors have two LED indication lights:

  • Red – protection or error status indicator
